. . . Tricia Durdey, who submitted her manuscript for Lord Nelson’s Eye!
Lord Nelson’s Eye showed the most promise out of over 200 entries – Blackfriars editor Clare Smith said:
“Tricia Durdey’s novel was a moving, evocative read, with an understated emotional power to the narrative which is very effective.”
Tricia won an editorial consultation about the book, giving her some food for thought as she continues to develop her novel.
Congratulations also to two promising authors whose manuscripts narrowly missed out on the top spot: Deirdre Coffey with Grace at the Edge of the World; and Evan Mann
We really enjoyed reading all of your submissions – and the incredible variety of ideas, characters, and styles which came flooding in. Thank you so much to everyone who sent us their first chapters, and best of luck as you continue to work on your manuscripts.
